Apparently
Jumping Brook is a venue we all like as we continue our streak of raising over $30,000 - again!! The generosity of those
that support M.A.D. 9/11 is nothing short of amazing and wonderful. The attendance for the golf outing was outstanding -
122 GOLFERS with another 25 attending for dinner all resulting in raising over $32,000!! We would like to thank a number of our sponsors including
our Platinum Sponsors - Cantor Fitzgerald and State Street as well as our Beverage and Golf Cart sponsors Berkshire Capital
and Direct Energy, respectively as well as our long-time Golf Ball Sponsor New Jersey Resources. Recognition to our other
sponsors include Wallach Beth, Susquehanna and Cortland Capital. We also want to thank the many hole sponsors, led by our
Exclusive Hole sponsor Marco Polo Restaurant, all who helped lead the way to another successful year. Also, a special thank
you goes to our guest speaker David Hallman, superintendent of Belmar (NJ) for sharing the results of the many Inclusion and
Diversity programs we have sponsored in both Belmar and while a principal at Tinton Falls (NJ) Middle School.
With the completion of our seventh playground in Marlboro, we
were recognized again by receiving a declaration of accomplishment from the town. Pieces of equipment were installed for
easy access and enjoyment for those with special needs encouraging independence. Like the other playgrounds a sign honoring
Michael and introducing the foundation has been installed. This work could not have been done without you.
At the time of writing this letter, we have begun evaluating
sites for our eighth playground. This facility, will likely follow the others before being designed for children ages 2 to
5.
As discussed during last year's event, we provided funding for
a summer Inclusion program in the Belmar school district. This program, a selection of students that provided community service
in the surrounding neighborhoods with the goal of teaching teamwork, responsibility and understanding of others, was extremely
successful as Mr. Hallman shared with us. As a result, we will look to continue this program with the hopes of expanding
into other areas. The lessons learned through this program will serve these students well as they are presented with social
challenges and obstacles.
The foundation would like to extend
a sincere THANK YOU for all those that have and continue to support our cause. We hope that you will help continue to keep
Michael's memory alive by supporting the 2015 golf event on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune,
NJ. For any questions call Ellen at (609) 490-1294. M.A.D. 9/11 thanks you in advance for your support.
